Financial crime prevention is one of the critical function within any fintech/banking company. In layman terms, the function is responsible for two aspects:
Protecting the customers money from fraud via social engineering, account takeovers, etc
Preventing the misuse of the firm's product/service — ensuring the company's product isn’t used for illegal activities such as money laundering, terrorism financing, etc
